EchoSpan's AI Insights Toolkit Now Includes Support for Anthropic Claude
Until now, the narrative content in your Insights Toolkit reports has been generated by OpenAI. Starting today, you can switch that to Anthropic's Claude instead. It's a setting on your Account Settings page under the AI Settings tab. You can change it whenever you like.
Why we added it
Mostly because you asked. A lot of our clients have already put one AI vendor through legal, security, and procurement, and not the other. If your company has standardized on a provider, you shouldn't have to choose between your internal policy and running a feedback program. Now you don't.
There are a couple of other nice side effects. If one provider has an outage, you have somewhere to go. And the two models write a little differently, so if you prefer the voice of one for your population, that's your call to make rather than ours.
What changes, and what doesn't
Your choice applies to everything the Insights Toolkit generates: comment summaries and theme analysis, reading recommendations and development tips, strengths and areas for improvement, hidden strengths and blind spots, benchmark comparisons, manager debriefing guides, and group report summaries.
The reports themselves look the same either way. Same sections, same headings, same structure. What changes is the model doing the thinking.
The guardrails don't change. Both providers get the same instructions we've always used: stick to what the data actually says, don't invent explanations for scores, be accurate about how many raters raised each point, flag disagreement rather than papering over it, and ignore responses from raters who said they couldn't comment. If you've set up custom tuning rules for tone and style, those still apply and still take priority.
Making the switch
Head to Account Settings, pick your provider, and save. Anything generated after that uses your new choice.
Reports that already exist keep their current content, so nothing your participants have already read will change underneath them. If you'd like existing reports regenerated, just let your EchoSpan rep know which surveys and we'll clear them for you.
Should you switch?
If you don't have a vendor requirement, there's no rush. Both do good work.
If you're curious, pick one survey with a healthy number of written comments, read what you have today, switch, and compare fresh output on the same group. Style differences are much easier to judge on your own people's comments than in the abstract.
Questions about which fits your organization? Your EchoSpan Client Manager is happy to talk it through.
