Articles » Release Notes: Version 7.76
Version 7.76 of the EchoSpan platform was released on October 31st,
2020. This release includes a number of additions to our reporting suite,
as well as enhancements to the administrative tool. As always, new features
for the platform are included at no additional cost in their respective
EchoSpan editions.
Brief summaries of the new features and enhancements are below. Once the release is published, we'll make additional documentation on each of these items available in the product guides. Thank you to all of the program administrators who offered suggestions and feedback that helped us identify these enhancement opportunities. We're grateful for the perspective that you offer in continually improving the EchoSpan platform!
7.76 Release Highlights
(P= Professional Edition, E = Enterprise Edition, A = All Editions, EE = Employee Engagement)
Reporting Enhancements:
Comparative Group Report Components (E, Beta): we've added the following PDF components to the editable group report library. These report components can help identify changes and trends in performance by comparing group-level results.
Competency Summary with Comments (P, E): there is a new competency summary setting that offers the ability to present comment responses with competency level results in PDF reports.
Multiple Choice Items component for Employee Engagement (EE Beta): within the Employee Engagement module, we've added a multiple-choice and frequency distribution reporting component. This enabled reporting on multiple choice and pick multiple item types. Administrators can leverage indexing functionality to differentiate between multiple choice questions that are intended to gather demographic data and multiple choice questions that are being leveraged to collect feedback in the survey.
Administrative Enhancements:
Multi-Factor Authentication for Administrators (A): we've added a multi-factor authentication option for administrative users. When this feature is enabled, the admin will receive a six-digit access code at the email address that is on file for their administrative account. They will be prompted to enter the access code to verify their identity before logging into the system with their administrative password. The administrator can also opt into a Remember Me option once verifying their identity on the device.
Email Reply and Bounce report (A): the administrative system will now capture details on email messages that receive a bounce-back message. This can include out-of-office and undeliverable messages and the message type and subject line will be presented in the administrative tool . Administrators can also generate an excel or csv export with these details from the Reports menu >> Export Data Files option. This information can be helpful in identifying individuals who may have issues preventing them from participating in the survey process.
Map Action Guide Resources to Custom Content (P,E): clients who use custom review content can now easily map your competencies to EchoSpan's library of development action guides. This option is available under the properties menu for each competency. Once the associations are in place, these resources can be dynamically pulled into the Development Action Guides report component as well as the user dashboard in the Development Planning Module.
Admin User List Uploader (Companywide plans): clients who are subscribed to EchoSpan's companywide pricing model now have the ability to upload and modify the user database within the administrative tool.
How to Upgrade
Once released, the version 7.76 update is automatically applied to any new, blank project you create. You can also update an existing project by opening the project and clicking Upgrade Project in the top right of the project's homepage. This option will only be visible if an update is available for that project. Upgrades are available to clients without existing customizations. Note that if you clone a project that uses an older version of code, the new project will also be based on the older code and require a manual update.
As always, we appreciate your feedback on our product and services. Please remember that we offer a question and answer session each week that is an open forum for customer questions. One of our Senior Client Service Managers leads the interactive session and will address any product questions you have. You can sign up for these recurring weekly sessions below:
