Version 7.80 of the EchoSpan platform was released on October 23, 2022. This release includes new features and enhancements to the user experience and 360 reporting suite. As always, new features for the 360 tool are included at no additional cost in their respective EchoSpan editions.

Brief summaries of the new features and enhancements are below. Once the release is published, we'll make additional documentation on each of these items available in the product guides.

7.80 Release Highlights
(P= Professional Edition, E = Enterprise Edition, A = All Editions)

Key Enhancements:

User Interface Redesign (A) - All user screens have been refreshed with a cleaner layout, sharper graphics, more modern appearance and faster page load times. User dashboards, survey configuration, survey response screens and the development planning tool all have a fresh new look and better performance. Project administrators can now also customize the color of the application banner to better align with their branding.

WCAG Requirements (A) - The EchoSpan tool is now redesigned to be WCAG-compliant for responding to surveys and completing/auditing lists of feedback raters. These changes make the EchoSpan tool more accessible to users with difficulties using traditional web applications. Additional features will be made compliant soon.

Easier Back Navigation in Required Item Surveys (A) Participants can easily navigate back to previous pages in a survey when required questions are not answered on the current page. Participants will still be prompted to respond to required questions before navigating forward through reviews.

Enhanced Individual Item component capabilities (P, E) Administrators can now configure the Enhanced Individual Review Items report component to include comparison data from a target's previous 1-3 review instances. This eliminates the need for an additional report section to show changes from one review period to the next.

How to Upgrade

Once released, the version 7.80 update is automatically applied to any new, blank project you create. You can also update an existing project by opening the project and clicking Upgrade Project in the top right of the project's homepage. This option will only be visible if an update is available for that project. Upgrades are available to clients without existing customizations. Note that if you clone a project that uses an older version of code, the new project will also be based on the older code and require a manual update.
